Speech and Language Impairment
A Speech and Language Impairment requires mandated service through the Committee on Special Education (CSE). This impairment adversely affects a child's ability to perform successfully in the classroom without the support of speech and language services. A formal evaluation, conducted by a Speech/Language Therapist must be performed once parental approval is obtained.
Therapy is provided in the areas of:
- Receptive and Expressive Language
- Written Language
- Pragmatic (social) language
- Fluency or stuttering
- Articulation and Phonological disorders
- Apraxia
- Speech Reading and Auditory Training
- Voice
