Reading Program at GLP

    The Reading Program at GLP is committed to early intervention for all students in grades K-2.

     Our AIS Reading Program offers direct support for students at risk for reading difficulties.  Children in Kindergarten - Second Grade generally attend for 30 minutes per day with other students from their classroom.

     Our Kindergarten students receive instruction in early literacy skills, including concepts of print, alphabetic principles,  phonological and phonemic awareness, letter sound identification, and sight word practice. 

     The first and second grade reading programs offer support for students in a small group setting as well.  All of our instruction is research-based and data-driven to meet our students' individual learning goals.
