About Me!

Mrs. Claire Flynn

Hello!  My name is Claire Flynn.  I am a sixth grade Special Education Teacher. Because we will be spending so much time together, I think it is important that you know a little about me. Before joining the Eden family as a Special Education teacher, I worked at the Hamburg Central School District for two years as a Special Education Long-term Substitute Teacher. I took some time off to be with my son. I also was a Long -Term Substitute at Maryvale Intermediate School, teaching in a Fifth Grade Special Education classroom. I returned in January of 2014 to the Eden School District This is my 10th year teaching Sixth Grade at Eden Central School District and I LOVE it!

On a personal note, I received my Bachelors degree in Childhood Inclusion in 2009 and my Masters degree in 2012, both from SUNY Fredonia. I live in Eden with my husband and our two sons.  I love to cook, read, spend time outside, draw, and spend time with friends and family.

I feel that all children have their own unique ability to learn.  As a teacher, I care very much about each of my students. It is my job to provide your child with the necessary skills to become life-long learners!  To achieve this goal, I will meet your child from where he/she is at and guide him/her as far as possible, planning very carefully so that your child can feel challenged without becoming overwhelmed.

As a parent, you are the most important person in your child’s life.  In order to promote a successful atmosphere for learning, it is necessary that we work together as a team. If at any time during the year you have a question or concern about your child, please feel free to contact me at school (992-3610 ext. 2208), send a note with your child, or by e-mail (cflynn@edencsd.org).

I am extremely excited about this opportunity to work with your child.   I hope you and your child are just as excited as I am.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Claire Flynn
