Meet Mr. Walker
Welcome
I'm Mr Walker and I'm glad you stopped in to meet me. I'm the only boy in the family, so it gets a little "tough" sometimes. This has given me some good experience though. I can put in a pretty good ponytail and even help with nail painting! There's Ginsey (Virginia), working and living in Buffalo, Gilly (Gillian), working in the Buffalo area and living nearby, and Emmy (Emily) is in college at Buffalo State studying to be a teacher! We like to ride bikes together, we go on hikes, and enjoy our house and yard. I like to design and build things for the house and yard. It gives me many great challenges which I love to tackle.
We also have 2 other members in our family. A beagle named JoJo and Black and White cat named Franklin. Both rescue animals!!!
I try to bring a lot of outside experience to the classroom. I have worked many jobs, from coat checker and dishwasher to college admissions representative. (ask if you want to know more!) I was also in the Army National Guard for 10 years. I share a lot of this life and job experience in the classroom, which gives everyone a better understanding of not only me but the concepts that we are learning in Math.
I also volunteer with Team Rubicon, which is a disaster relief group. This Team travels throughout the country and parts of the world to give help where they can.
My Dad was a teacher, my Mom was a teacher's aide, my sister is also a teacher, and I have many other family members involved with education. I guess you can say that it is in the blood. I started teaching by attending my 5-year college reunion. I met a woman who started teaching at age 55, so I figured that it was not too late for me. I went home and started on another college journey, to become a teacher. At my 10-year college reunion I went back to thank her and I had my teaching job in Eden. So, thanks to this woman that I met, I have a wonderful job, your teacher!
