Ms. Armbruster's Physical Education Webpage

Hello and welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! Thank you for visiting the Middle & High School PE web page. My name is Mrs. DeWald. This is my 2nd year teaching Health and Physical Education here at Eden. I am an Eden alumni and absolutely love teaching at my alma mater!

 

I graduated with my bachelors degree in exercise science from D’Youville University in 2016 and then went on to get my associates degree in Physical Therapist Assistant at Villa Maria College in 2018. I was a Physical Therapist Assistant prior to becoming a physical education and health teacher. I earned my graduate degree in physical education from Canisius University in 2022.

Physical Education

 

In this course, students will develop the skills and knowledge to be physically active throughout their lifespan. This course will focus on physical literacy. Physical literacy is a term that describes the motivation, confidence, physical competence, knowledge and understanding that students develop in order to maintain physical activity at an appropriate level throughout their lives.

 

Expectations:

  • Respect yourself and those around you.
  • Be present to class, and participate! Participating with your classmates will make lessons enjoyable and enhance our learning environment.
  • Students refusing to participate will receive a zero for that day. 
  • Have a positive attitude!
  • Make a commitment to excellence in the classroom.
  • Come to class prepared! 
  • Students must wear appropriate clothing that will allow them to be physically active. A change of clothes is recommended for PE classes. Students MUST have sneakers to participate in PE class. NO sandals, boots, or crocs. NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • The school is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Do not bring valuables to class.
  • Students will be required to bring their own lock if they would like to lock up their belongings. It is strongly recommended to lock up belongings. 
  • Students are responsible for checking Google classrooms and staying up to date with PE announcements and assignments.

 

 

6th Grade Health Education - 10 Weeks

 

In this course, students will learn how to live a productive and healthy life by understanding how decisions affect your immediate and long-term health. Every decision is a health decision in some way! The goal of health education is to instill in each student a desire to practice sound principles of healthy living.
