At Home test reporting

January 4, 2022

Dear Eden Families and Staff Members:

On Sunday, January 1st, 2022, Eden Central School District, in partnership with NYSDOH, distributed at-home test kits for school age children. If you have NOT received your test kit(s) yet please contact your child’s school office to either pick up or have a test sent home with your child. We are limited to providing one test kit for each student who attends school in the Eden CSD.

This testing is not mandatory but rather an option being provided to students as we return from winter recess. Testing is considered part of the layered mitigation strategies that we have adopted to ensure we can keep our students in school.

If you choose to test your child and he/she tests positive, that result must be reported to your child’s school nurse and the Erie County Department of Health (ECDOH) using the following link: -

Negative test results do not need to be reported.

Additionally, NYSDOH currently requires students who test positive to quarantine for ten days.  Please visit the NYSDOH website for specific information about quarantine requirements or contact your child’s physician.

Please be on the lookout for future correspondence that will outline the District’s plans for a Test to Stay program that should significantly reduce the number of students who are in quarantine because of in-school exposure and for a potential plan for Diagnostic testing.

Thank you for your collaboration and support in keeping our students, staff, and community
