• Eden Central School District

    STEP 1

    • If you have submitted a consent form for your child(ren) to be tested, your child may be selected at random to be tested using the BinaxNOW COVID-19 Ag Card
      • This test is for asymptomatic (without symptoms) individuals. Those who are symptomatic (with symptoms) should call their medical professional or go to a testing site.
    • If your child is selected for testing, you will be contacted by phone, minimally the day prior to testing, by your child(ren)’s building to inform you of the date your child will be tested.
      • Your child should not participate in the BinaxNow COVID-19 testing if he/she has tested positive in the last 90 days.
      • Testing will take place on alternating Mondays and Fridays in each school building

    STEP 2

    • All testing will be conducted by trained nurses using the BinaxNOW COVID-19 Ag Card rapid test, which is a minimally invasive nasal swab with results in 15 minutes.

    STEP 3

    • If test results are negative, the student will return to class.
    • If the test results are positive, the student will be discreetly escorted to the isolation area. You will be notified and you will need to pick up your child immediately. You should follow directions from medical professionals following a positive COVID-19 test result and guidance from the ECDOH.

    The District needs to test 20% of our in-person population in EACH BUILDING in order to resume and remain in hybrid in-person instruction. The number of students, faculty and staff tested must be proportionately spread across the month with a maximum/minimum of 10% tested biweekly. Please be advised that if the testing sample generates nine or more positive cases in any school, that school will be required to return to full remote instruction. We know that in-person instruction is best for our students, academically, socially and emotionally, but our ability to return to hybrid or full in-person instruction and remain in such instructional model depends upon:

    * Following the testing protocols

    * Completion of the Daily Screening Questionnaire and procedures

    * Wearing face coverings/masks & following good hygiene practices

    Please direct any questions to your child’s main office.
