If you are an incoming Senior (Class of 2024) who plans to apply to a 4-year college, you may or may not have taken the SAT test at the end of Junior year as numerous colleges and universities waived the SAT as an admissions requirement.
We believe there is value in taking the test, even if your prospective schools have waived it. For $55, you can see how prepared you are to handle the type of academic work that is expected of you in college.
The SAT test registration process will take approximately 20 minutes (most of that time is devoted to the optional inputting of High School courses you have taken and your interest in colleges, majors and careers).
Eden hosts the SAT on Saturday November 4, 2023.
The deadline to register without paying additional late fees is October 6th. Please register by clicking on the link that follows:
https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/digital/international-testing/dates-deadlines
Students who are eligible for Free or Reduced Lunch can see Mr. Hassett for a waiver that allows them to take the test at no cost (there is a limit of two waivers during High School). (Families must be registered with the Business Office for Free / Reduced Lunch (a confidential process) in order to qualify for this waiver.
Students who are eligible for Special Testing accommodations must have requested them through Mrs. Carriero, our school psychologist, and received approval from the College Board PRIOR to the test date.
To share your SAT results with counselors, please be sure to enter Eden's High School code (331-755) when you register for the test. This is not a requirement, but it does allow us to enter your SAT scores on your official High School transcript, allowing colleges to see how you did (Scores may also be blocked from transcripts at the request of students).
Current Seniors who took the PSAT test in October, 2022 have been encouraged to register for FREE SAT test prep - tied to their specific PSAT results - at the following SAT affiliate:
On Eden's SAT test day in November, registered students will be admitted through the Sports Entrance between 7:30am and 7:45am. They will need the following items on their person in order to be admitted:
*An SAT admission ticket (see your counselor if you need assistance printing your ticket).
*Photo ID (official school ID, driver's license or a passport are all acceptable examples).
*Students will also need #2 pencils and an acceptable graphing calculator. We are not allowed to loan calculators for the SAT - please bring your own!
*Cell phones and other electronic devices are NOT allowed in the testing room, so please leave those in your car or at home.
If you have any questions about the SAT test, please contact Dave Hassett (dhassett@edencsd.org) or Jen Dibble (jdibble@edencsd.org) at 992-3601.
