While the Eden Central School District has had no confirmed cases of MRSA, we wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the recommendations provided by the Erie County Health Department that will help to prevent the transmission / spread of MRSA.
We would ask that you discuss these methods with your students in an age / grade appropriate manner. The Health Department recommends the following:
¨ Frequent and thorough hand washing using liquid soap.
¨ Keeping cuts and scrapes covered, disposing of bandages properly.
¨ Don’t share towels or hygiene products.
¨ Limit the use of shared equipment and wash when appropriate.
¨ Keep all lavatory facilities as clean as possible.
¨ Notify appropriate staff if there are areas that need extra attention or clean up.
If any faculty or staff member suspect that a student may have an infection that we have not been notified about, please contact your School Nurse and Principal immediately.
