About Mrs. Schnaufer
Teaching has been a dream of mine for a long time. After a long and bumpy road, I am enjoying working with the students at Eden Elementary School!
I began my journey doing several different jobs in the business world (marketing, restaurant management, small business operator). During this time, I worked on and received a K-12 teaching certification in Business and Distributive Education and had my first 3 children. After being a stay-at-home mom for 9 years, I re-entered the job market and worked as a sub-teacher and cafeteria monitor at the GLP.
From there, I was hired at the JR/SR High School as the Academic Support Lab Teaching Assistant. I held this job for a little over 4 years until the birth of my twin boys. While on maternity leave, I finished my Master's Degree in Distance and Adult Education.
The following October, I returned to work as the Technology Support Teaching Assistant where I spent a good part of my day teaching the teachers. Also, part of this job was to teach computer classes at the GLP.
After 2 years in this position, I was hired to teach full time as a shared teacher between the GLP and EE. This is my fifth year in this position and my teaching duties again will only be at the EE this year. I will also be assigned to help the Technology Director with data retrieval and distribution as well as continuing with some staff development and technology support duties. I am also adjunct faculty at ECC North and teach both online and seated classes through the Office Management and Administration Dept.
