Discipline Procedure
School Wide Behavior Plan - Follows a color code system - green=appropriate behaviors, yellow=Minor Infractions (ex. - failure to follow directions, speaking out of turn, repeated failure to stay on task)=warning, orange=2 infractions,and red=3 or more infractions. Refer to Take Home folder for consequences for each color.
***Major Infractions (ex. - disregarding school rules, causing harm, physical or emotional to another person, dishonesty, stealing)
A private conference is held between the student and teacher. The student is given an opportunity to acknowledge the infraction. He or she is then given the chance to share what transpired with his or her parents. The next day, the parent will receive a note, or phone call from the teacher regarding the infraction. Every child deserves the opportunity to be heard and to accept accountability.
*This process encourages and facilitates the development of honesty and trust between all parties involved.
