A private conference is held between the student and teacher. The student is given an opportunity to acknowledge the infraction. He or she is then given the chance to share what transpired with his or her parents.
The next day, the parent will receive a note, or phone call from the teacher regarding the infraction. Every child deserves the opportunity to be heard and to accept accountability.
*This process encourages and facilitates the development of honesty and trust between all parties involved.
